The volunteers tackling period poverty in the time of coronavirus
Both Bloody Good Period and Every Month have seen an increase in demand for free period products because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people are no longer working, some are working shift work and longer hours, businesses are closing, people are having to self-isolate and students aren’t in school right now where some may have had access to free period products.
These organizations are now being forced to change strategy to continue helping those in need. Bloody Good Period now has a storage unit with a trust-based take-what-you-need scheme and is also delivering products directly to individuals.
