The UK Tampon Tax Is Abolished In The 2020 Budget
The UK Government announced the end of tampon tax in the 2020 budget. Up until now, period products were viewed as ‘luxury’ items rather than essentials, subjecting them to a 5 percent tax.
This will reportedly save those who menstruate an average of £40 throughout their lifetime.
Now, people are asking that the £700 million collected from the sales tax in previous years go back to where it was promised – women’s health and support charities.
