‘Periods Don’t Stop for Pandemics,’ Says Menstrual Equity Activist Amid COVID-19 Outbreak
Due to COVID-19 panic shopping, many shelves have been completely cleared of period products and other necessities. Not only that, but with many schools shut down and companies working remotely, those who relied on free period products at work or in schools no longer have access.
Many nonprofits have seen an increase in requests for period products over the last few weeks. Organizations, like I Support the Girls, have been working tirelessly to ensure all people affected by COVID-19 can manage their periods. They are encouraging those who can afford to support people who menstruate to donate money and products to shelters and other organizations.
