How we work together

Period The Menstrual Movement

PERIOD is a youth-run nonprofit that is fighting to end period poverty and period stigma through service, education and advocacy — and doing all of this by empowering young people around the world through their global campus chapter network.

DivaCares has partnered with PERIOD since 2015 and donates 500 DivaCups a month in support of Period’s mission to provide access to menstrual products to people around the world.

The Ali Forney Center

The Ali Forney Center is one of the largest LGBTQ+ youth focused organizations in the United States. Serving over 1400+ youth in New York City, the Ali Forney Center works to reduce the harm that homelessness, addiction and stigma can cause in the lives of LBGTQ+ Americans.

Since 2017 DivaCares has partnered with The Ali Forney Center and currently provides 65 DivaCups per quarter to their drop-in center to help meet the period care needs of their clients.

Native Sexual Health Network

The Native Youth Sexual Health Network (NYSHN) is an organization by and for indigenous youth that works across issues of sexual and reproductive health, rights and justice throughout the United States and Canada.

DivaCares has partnered with Native Youth Sexual Heath Network since 2017 and supports their important programs by donating 150 DivaCups quarterly.

Diva Day

Diva Day keeps Kenyan girls in school by providing them with DivaCups and Diva Day Handbooks, ensuring no day of class will be missed due to menstruation. Diva Day facilitates empowerment workshops that includes visual arts, song and interactive activities exploring female anatomy and the menstrual cycle.

Our partnership began in 2018 and DivaCares provides 1000 DivaCups annually in support of these workshops.

Operation Courage Beautiful

Operation Courage is Beautiful’s mission is to bring a little joy and femininity to active-duty, deployed US servicewomen through care packages. Women make up a significant 16% of active-duty military forces in the US, yet most morale-building care package programs are geared toward men. OCIB sends women’s care packages consisting of high-quality personal care products such as face wash, facial moisturizer, body wash, nail care products, makeup, sunblock and menstrual care products.

DivaCares has supported this great organization since 2016 with a quarterly donation of 135 DivaCups to ensure active duty service women have access to the highest quality period care products.

Be a Rose

Be a Rose was founded in 2014 with the singular purpose of empowering women. Their mission is to provide health and wellness education to underserved women and school-age girls and to distribute hygiene products to these populations at zero cost. Be a Rose distributes hundreds of product packs, offers education workshops and are ambassadors of eco-friendly products to help green menstruation.

Since 2015 DivaCares supports Be a Rose’s fantastic work with a quarterly donation of 50 DivaCups along with educational materials and training. Our partnership is also supporting a pilot study in Be a Rose’s affiliate school in Kenya to test the efficacy of menstrual cups in lowering absenteeism of girls from classes due to their periods.

Womens Voices For The Earth

Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE) is on a mission to amplify women’s voices to eliminate the toxic chemicals that harm our health and communities. Their work is based on the belief that everyone, regardless of their race, socio-economic status, or gender, deserves to live in an environment free of toxic chemicals that may give them cancer, cause infertility and birth defects, or result in health problems for future generations. Focusing on the industries that predominantly market and sell to women (cleaning, personal/period care and cosmetics), they lead campaigns that move women to advocate for their health by standing up to corporations and pushing for better regulation of chemicals in products.

Womens Environmental Network

Women's Environmental Network (WEN) is the only UK charity working on issues that link women, health, equality and the environment. WEN was founded to offer a different way of thinking about and acting on environmental issues, using the perspectives and voices of women - often overlooked and undervalued in the environmental movement. 30 years on, WEN is paving the way for more women to lead conversations and be part of the decision-making on environmental issues. In the current climate, with the recent public interest in plastics and the environment, resurgence of interest in feminism and the discussion of menstrual product waste, places WEN in a unique position to bring these topics together and inspire action.
